Copy Editor

The copy editor is responsible for final review of every Creative Direction project including brochures, emails, presentations, digital and print advertisements, posters, social media graphics, web content etc. The copy editor identifies and corrects errors in facts, statistics, grammar, punctuation, style and usage, duplication, etc. They work with the other copy editor to review all work from the university initiatives, recruitment initiatives, and executive initiatives teams (over 8,000 projects annually). Other duties include contacting information sources; conducting independent research; collaborating closely with writers; submitting queries and suggesting changes to enhance accuracy, readability, brevity, and style.

• B.A. in English, journalism, or comparable academic background.
• Marketing or related field and 5+ years' experience in editing required, preferably in advertising, marketing or publishing fields.
• Understanding of communications in print, digital, social media environments.
• A critical, careful eye for detail and familiarity with editing web, advertising, promotional and other content
• Ability to meet immediate and changing deadlines, work with multiple editors, and meet the highest standards of composition.
• Firm grasp of style rules, including Associated Press style, and experience using an in-house editorial style guide.
• Familiarity with maintaining an in-house style guide
