Professor of Interior Design

SCAD seeks a professor of interior design for SCADnow, the university's real-time virtual instruction platform. SCADnow gives students global access to professors, peers, and professionals through a vibrant, digital format.

Consistently ranked the top program in the U.S. by DesignIntelligence, the interior design program at SCAD offers unparalleled learning experiences that prepare students to excel at top global firms. The interior design B.F.A. and M.F.A. programs challenge creative students to become innovative designers capable of critical thinking and effective communication, while the M.A. focuses on design research and writing. SCAD students draw on the knowledge and skills gained in interior design courses to win numerous honors from organizations such as the International Interior Design Association, the American Society of Interior Design, and Contract magazine.

As a professor, you will equip students with the expertise and fluency to engage theory, culture, materiality, and function in the design of interior spaces. With enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence, you will motivate students as they design meaningful and memorable design solutions for corporate and community partners.

The successful candidate has a strong professional portfolio and university-level teaching experience in conceptual design, design development, oral and visual presentation, space planning, FF&E, sustainability, materials, regulatory compliance, and the preparation of construction documents. The candidate should also have National Council for Interior Design Qualification certification.

Minimum Qualifications:

- M.F.A. or its equivalent in interior design or related field
- NCIDQ Certification
- Portfolio of professional design work
- Experience with professional visualization and electronic design techniques and applications

Preferred Qualifications: Teaching Experience at Collegiate Level Preferred
