Professor of Film and Television: Post Production /Sound Design

SCAD seeks an experienced, full-time professor of film and television to join its faculty in Atlanta, Ga. SCAD Atlanta seeks a highly motivated film professor with expertise in postproduction. In this role, you will help prepare the next generation of visual media professionals.

As a SCAD professor, you will be required to meet expectations of planning and preparing for teaching; maintaining an active and engaged classroom environment; syllabus design, submission, and approval; holding office hours and midterm grade reviews; providing extra help sessions, extended learning opportunities, and field trips; and conducting program-level assessments. The professor will model professionalism, fulfill grading and academic documentation requirements, record attendance, follow academic policies and regulations, and support academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts. Other responsibilities include attending on-ground and virtual events such as faulty meetings, admission events, curriculum assessment and development, institutional effectiveness and accreditation support, and any other events, exhibitions, or publicity assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree in the discipline or in a relevant field is preferred
  • Academic and professional credentials to teach in a certain discipline
  • Experience in or knowledge of related professions
  • Experience and training in photo editing, post workflows, sound design, and color correction
  • Proficiency in AVID, ProTools, DaVinci Resolve, and Adobe Creative Suite

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level
