Maintenance Technician

As a maintenance technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the residence halls and other university properties to ensure an excellent student, staff, faculty, and visitor experience. Following OSHA safe practices, you will install window treatments, change light fixtures (bulbs, ballasts, and lenses), monitor HVAC (filter changes and checking drain pans and drainpipes), and ensure emergency lighting and exit signs are operable. You may also perform plumbing and roof maintenance and repairs. Among other duties, you will perform daily building walkthroughs to assess items that require mechanical, electrical, or painting improvements and complete assigned work order requests. The maintenance technician remains on call to handle emergency situations where needed.

Minimum qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of experience and/or training
  • Must pass DOT physical exam

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
  • Valid driver's license

Travel required: 10-20%

Work hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
