Social Media Manager

As a full-time social media manager, you will work alongside a specialized team of content creators, community managers, and strategists to develop compelling campaigns that align with SCAD goals for recruitment, retention, and university advocacy. You will build and nurture positive working relationships with supervisors and other SCAD departments to stay in the know on signature events, exhibitions, special projects, and university goals, and to curate organic and paid social media content and production strategies - from ideation to implementation. You will manage a content calendar of high-quality content, craft platform-specific and diversified content, and stay current on trends in user experience and graphic design for all social media platforms.

With your team, you will source user-generated content from SCAD alumni, professors, current students, and influencers for cross-promotional opportunities, and will work in tandem with the social media strategist to create cohesive content with measurable outcomes. You will co-lead communication with admission on university-wide marketing strategies, collaborate with community managers on content initiatives, and be responsible for elements of ad creative, targeting, trafficking, optimization, and reporting as it pertains to social, programmatic, content marketing, and new channels. Among other duties, you will also track tends and conduct daily reviews of websites and social media.

The successful candidate has a strong understanding of both the paid and earned social media, as well as the marketing landscape, and brings a wealth of knowledge to reach new audiences and cultivate growth for SCAD. The candidate must be comfortable disseminating information from external agencies to the social media team.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A desire to explore emerging technologies and trends
  • Fluency with social media platforms, their vocabulary, culture, and technical qualities
  • Advanced knowledge of Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Tumblr

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver's license

Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
