Circulation Specialist

As a circulation specialist, you will support library service delivery to the SCAD community, including the lending and receiving of materials, course reserve assistance, and basic research assistance. You will assist with the processing, organization, and maintenance of SCAD Libraries' diverse collections to ensure a smooth operation and consistent availability of library services. Among other duties, you will also perform routine library account maintenance (e.g., send overdue notices, collect fines, place and release library holds), ensure standard office equipment is in good condition, and open and close the library.

The successful candidate has exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as a keen eye for detail. A high degree of organization is essential for this position.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to use library information systems, manage resources and Library of Congress call number system for shelving books, and to work nights and weekends


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous library experience
  • Undergraduate degree in an area of study offered by SCAD.


Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver's license

Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
