Senior Editor and Colorist

12 Month Hourly Staff FT

The Senior Editor will conceptualize ideas and assemble media assets into high-quality dynamic content and be integral in the post production of university events, promotional and branded content.
Responsible for editing, coloring, sound sweetening and managing all film material created by the Visual Media departments in Savannah and Atlanta.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of professional experience as an editor.
  • Expert in Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve, media asset management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of editing file structures, A/V (audio/video) formats and compression codecs, and the role they play in video and streaming media.
  • Proficient understanding of audio mixing, cutting music, graphic design, motion graphics, etc.
  • Adept at managing multiple projects at various stages of production simultaneously.
  • Must be incredibly organized.
  • A problem solver who can troubleshoot technical and editorial issues.
  • Must be available to work outside office hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Strong working knowledge of the latest editing styles, techniques and equipment.
  • Must have passion for visual aesthetics and storytelling.
  • Must have a portfolio with extraordinary video content that shows an expertise in video editing, visual storytelling, and digital production techniques across a variety of platforms.

Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
