The Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning (LAEP) seeks to fill a faculty position at the rank of assistant (tenure-track) or associate (tenured) professor level in geographic information science (GIS) for landscape architecture and environmental planning. The expected start date is July 1, 2023.

Candidates should have a strong background in Geospatial Science, Geomatics, GIS, Remote Sensing, and Data Analytics. The department seeks a candidate whose research engages innovative forms and sources of geospatial data, the creation of integrated processing systems of an array of data types and spatial resolutions, and the application of data outcomes to critical landscape and environmental decision-making, such as issues of environmental and climate justice. Examples may include, but are not limited to: spatial analyses of climate change threats and risks to human lives, health, well-being, property, or infrastructure; the analysis and forecasting of landscape change drivers such as land use trends, human mobility, displacement, and/or environmental transitions; and other relevant subjects.
