Job Description Summary
The Communication and Social Media Assistant supports the Communication and Web Director to promote the visibility and support the success of SNF Paideia Program outreach. The Assistant will support events promotion, social media communication, accuracy of contact data, communication analytics, and story development, in addition to other responsibilities, as needed.

Job Description

  • Promote events and manage corresponding visual assets through email campaigns, web, and social media.
  • Monitor and promote student opportunities sponsored by partner organizations on campus via weekly email digest and social media.
  • Coordinate with the Communication and Web Director to maintain a robust social media presence for the SNF Paideia Program.
  • Manage event registration for virtual, in-person, and hybrid events. This includes creating and monitoring all event registration, tracking attendance, and creating post-event attendance reports.
  • Assist the Communications and Web Director with tracking relevant news items, identifying and tracking story ideas, and publishing/promoting online.
  • Produce regular communications reports on web, social, and email metrics.
  • Assist the Communications and Web Director in tracking and reporting on the relevant academic and experiential achievements of students currently in our fellows program as well as alumni who have graduated from the program.
  • Maintain and manage contact lists for email listserv, event registration, and social media platforms.
  • Assist Communication and Web Director with periodic maintenance of website content, ensuring information is accurate and optimized.
  • Support other general communications tasks, as needed.

  • Demonstrated writing experience, preferably in website, editorial, and marketing content.
  • Demonstrated creative and storytelling instincts.
  • Demonstrated experience as a visual communicator, with proven success in the use of digital images.
  • Strong organizational and digital file management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adjust priorities, and remain calm under stress. Willingness to take feedback from others and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, problem solve and complete tasks on time with strong attention to detail; self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of content management systems, email publishing tools (i.e. MailChimp, Constant Contact, or similar program), Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel), and social media tools.
  • Understanding of Google Analytics (or other metrics tools), keyword research and SEO best practices preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new skills using online resources such as LinkedIn Learning.
  • Familiarity with general office equipment, computers, and peripheral devices.
