Job Description Summary
The Division of Facilities and Real Estate Services (FRES) provides the expertise, business process, policies and standards required to plan, design, construct, operate, maintain and renew the physical assets of the University, excluding the health system. In addition, the Division, comprised of approximately five Departments, is responsible for the strategic planning, management and operation of non-academic University property, and collaborating with the neighborhood to create a safe, diverse and economically vibrant destination. With close to 12M square feet of space, FRES maintains 186 buildings on a campus of 276 acres, completes over 60,000 maintenance requests per year, and starts approximately 250 projects a year. FRES is comprised of the following Departments: Administration, Office of the University Architect, Design and Construction, Real Estate, Operations and Maintenance.

This comprehensive, award winning effort is expanding the campus over the next 20 years, including the construction of new academic research and recreational facilities. Job Description

HVAC SCADA Analyst

Under the direction of the O&M HVAC Trades Manager, the HVAC SCADA Analyst is responsible to ensure that the campus HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) systems connected through the campus SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system are functioning in an efficient, accurate and reliable manner. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting the campus building automation and control systems using operational data gathered through the Building Automation Systems (BAS), the SCADA, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) systems. The campus consists of approximately 189 research, academic, administrative and residential buildings containing 14 million square feet of space. This position will verify and analyze the accuracy of data, confirm and correct functioning sequences of HVAC and Hydronic systems. In addition, this position will provide technical support to our campus engineers, maintenance staff and Design & Construction team.

DUTIES

Review buildings HVAC systems operations on a daily basis to ensure reliable and efficient operation of the systems and investigate any abnormalities. Verify building equipment is energized as expected. Perform trend analysis, review alarm logs, and investigate on-going issues and generate work orders to correct the issues.

Coordinate with O&M Engineering Group, Control Shop, and Preventive Maintenance Coordinator to troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment and optimizing the reliability and performance of the systems; with the ultimate goal of performing continuous commissioning on the HVAC systems.

Work with the SCADA team to make corrections and improvements to graphics, trends, alarms, etc. and to optimize the use and effectiveness of the SCADA system. Set/adjust parameters and set points to obtain ideal settings for each system and eliminate unnecessary alarms.

Verify all utility systems are performing efficiently and accurately to provide heating and cooling throughout buildings.

Interact with Area Managers and/or Building Managers as necessary to implement / adjust / maintain building equipment occupancy schedules.

Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field requires 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in analyzing data gathered using BAS for HVAC systems in commercial/industrial facilities or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience in analyzing data from BAS systems on a campus serving higher education or medical/research initiative highly preferred.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
