The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of prostate stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), proton therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, and rectal hydrogel spacer procedures. Experience with high dose rate (HDR) prostate re-irradiation/salvage is mandatory. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. ABR Certified.

Teaching responsibilities may include the teaching, training, and mentoring of radiation oncology and medical physics residents, graduated students, and visiting trainees, etc. Informal and formal teachings include, but are not limited to participating in resident didactic series, both as a lecturer and as an in-person discussant. Must be able to provide hands-on procedural brachytherapy training for medical residents, i.e. high dose rate (HDR) prostate and gynecologic brachytherapy.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), proton therapy, intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy as treatment modalities in the care of prostate cancer patients. Providing high dose rate (HDR) prostate re-irradiation for patients with recurrent disease. Other responsibilities include fiducial marker and rectal hydrogel spacer procedures for patients receiving prostate radiation therapy. Opportunities may be available to develop and leadi prospective clinical trials.
