Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Managing Director of the Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center, the Senior Program Manager will oversee the Center's domestic and international programming ensuring that each works as part of the whole to create a cohesive high-quality experience for all the Center's stakeholders: students, faculty and members. Provision of quality programming allows the Center to attract donors, and the Senior Program Manager will also use the connections established with members to envision new fundraising opportunities. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for envisioning and execution of new and relevant programming for students and members which will integrate with the Center's current programs. The core tasks of the Senior Program Manager are:

(1) Planning, execution and management of all Zell/Lurie existing events and meetings including:
a. The Fall and Spring member meetings, which are attended by over 500 Center members, donors, and alumni.
b. VIP events, which are often smaller in nature and target the Center's most generous donors.
c. International programming - the Center currently has an established program in London and in Asia but will be expanding our offerings in coming years. Both domestic and international travel required.
d. Student programming - In collaboration with the Senior Program Manager, oversee Center programming geared towards students including weekly Ballard Luncheon presentations and the Schlager Lecture series. Coordinate monthly meetings and meet with four student Real Estate clubs (Wharton Undergraduate, MBA, School of Design and Penn Law); support student treks, speaker requests and career planning initiatives.

(2) Through connections with the membership, this position envisions new fundraising opportunities based on member interests and needs. Additionally, this position collaborates with the Business Administrator to solicit and collect all annual membership gifts.

(3) In collaboration with the Senior Program Manager, provide management to the Center's two event staff members.

(4) Ensure the quality of all of the Center's written materials (web based or hard copy) created by the event staff, including written materials for Center events, including agendas, pamphlets, web-based ads, direct communication and solicitation of potential and current donors and correspondence with speakers and participants in Center events.

Job Description


Bachelor's Degree and 5 years to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master's degree preferred. Must be able to work independently, multi-task, maintain confidential information and work with a diverse population. Excellent verbal, organizational, interpersonal, and written skills a must. Proficient PC skills, knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, Microsoft Office Suite and large database programs required. Must be able to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of people on a plethora of tasks.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
