Job Description

The Penn Center for Cancer Care Innovation (PC3I) is seeking an Innovation and Engagement Manager to manage research and innovation projects as well as center strategic initiatives. Founded at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, PC3I is embedded at the nexus of research and practice. Our mission is to create, test, and scale solutions to improve how we care for patients with cancer. We bring together diverse experts to improve health outcomes, increase healthcare efficiency, reduce cost growth, and apply the latest science to make cancer care better for our patients, providers, community, and partners.

DUTIES:
The Innovation and Engagement Manager will manage multiple lower complexity projects or elements of higher complexity projects simultaneously. With oversight from PC3I leadership and project principal investigators, the Innovation and Engagement Manager will work with interdisciplinary, cross-functional teams to plan and implement research and innovation projects. The Innovation and Engagement Manager will develop and manage project documentation, including project plans, study protocols, standard operating procedures, and IRB and other regulatory documents; conduct, support, or manage project activities, including study recruitment, data collection, and analysis; provide day-to-day project management and facilitate coordination across project team members and stakeholders; anticipate and mitigate risks; track progress and ensure projects are implemented per protocol, on time, and within budget; draft reports, memos, abstracts, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations to disseminate project findings. The Innovation and Engagement Manager will manage day-to-day execution of PC3I's communications activities to increase engagement with the center, including events, website, newsletters, and social media. The Innovation and Engagement Manager will supervise one to two staff members in communications.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of project management, health services research, healthcare quality improvement, communications and/or community engagement experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; demonstrated ability to identify and utilize available resources and manage multiple priorities concurrently; strong interpersonal skills, judgment, and diplomacy to work effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders; proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Preferred qualifications: master's degree; knowledge of software for reference management (e.g., Zotero), electronic data capture (e.g., REDCap), content management and collaboration (e.g., Box), websites (e.g. WordPress), design (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop), newsletters, (e.g. MailChimp), and social media (e.g. Sprout Social).

This position is contingent upon funding.
