Job Description Summary
An HR Generalist, in Information Systems & Computing is a well rounded, collaborative, service-oriented HR professional who, in close collaboration with the Assistant Director and Director of Human Resources, coordinates the talent acquisition life-cycle process and provides overall support for the day-to-day HR operations. The HR Generalist provides overall support for the function and employee focused initiatives.

Job Description

Coordination of full Talent Acquisition life cycle process (For non senior level positions): Serve as the centralized intake for requisition requests. Consult with hiring managers, scope role, establish service level agreement, ensure selection panel is established, provide guidance on an effective and compliant selection process consistent with established processes, best practices and legal requirements. Partner with hiring managers to inform sourcing strategy and to source and screen candidates. Facilitate process through reference check, offer negotiations, and background check. Ensure onboarding is completed. Support and contribute to the design, development and implementation of ISC orientation and onboarding processes and program.

Employee Relations: Respond to unemployment inquiries as needed. Supports the design, development and implementation of off-boarding processes and procedures. Conducts exit interviews for departing employees; tracks themes and prepares reports.

Compensation: Provides compensation support by processing approved additional pay requests, promotions, and salary adjustments. Partners with central HR on salary recommendations. Assists with merit planning process by ensuring accurate generation of merit memos.

Compliance & Reporting: Support overall departmental compliance requirements including, but not limited to, annual compliance training, workday compliance, etc.; develops and prepares a variety of reports to support a variety of HR metrics and reporting.

Engagement and Special Projects: Actively contribute to and assist in the administration of employee focused initiatives and programs such as orientation, training, recognition, communications and other continuous improvement efforts. Other projects and tasks as needed.

Bachelor's degree with 2-3 years of HR experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Possessing initiative, sound judgment and organizational savvy with the capacity to exercise discretion in working with highly confidential and sensitive matters is required.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to compose and edit written communications essential.

Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, required.

Previous HR experience in talent acquisition strongly preferred.

Knowledge of employment law preferred.

HR related systems experience required with preference to those with deep Workday experience.

PHR/SHRM-CP, SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Experience in an academic environment a plus.

Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines and priorities.

Demonstrated ability to develop systems and procedures and provide a high level of solution driving problem solving required
