The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree and evidence of advanced training in research methods (certificate, Masters degree, or PhD.) Board Certified/Eligible in General Internal Medicine is required.

Teaching responsibilities may include participating in the Perelman School's outstanding educational programs at the UME, GME or post-graduate level.

Clinical responsibilities may include direct patient care in either the inpatient or outpatient setting with an expectation of maintaining an active clinical practice.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include building a collaborative research program in areas of high relevance for general internal medicine, including but not limited to health services and policy research: comparative effectiveness, health economics, behavioral economics, health psychology, clinical or social epidemiology, medical sociology, and disease prevention. Applicants will have published original research to be appointed at the Assistant Professor level.

We are particularly interested in candidates who want to address these issues through engagement with the health system and the division's clinical activities, to help advance the delivery of health care and population health through a learning health care system.
