The Philadelphia VA Medical Center (PVAMC) and the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of behavioral economics, health psychology, community-based participatory research, and implementation science. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include participating in the Perelman School's outstanding educational programs for medical students, graduate medical education or post-graduate level, as well as training allied rehabilitation professionals.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing a robust research program focusing on rehabilitation related issues and disorders using quantitative health services research methodologies. Applicants must have a track record of published original research and substantial research training for this position as Assistant Professor in the tenure track. Successful candidates will be expected to build an established record of independent extramural funding, high-impact publications.

Knowledge regarding wearable devices and scalable technology platforms to improve care delivery and access to rehabilitation care is desired.

This position is based at the Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine. The candidate should have an interest and some prior experience conducting research within the VA health system.
