The academic operations manager is responsible for providing day-to-day operational management support to a portfolio of academic departments . By providing management support to those assigned departments, the academic operations manager eases the operational load on program leaders and helps them focus on academic management, especially as it relates to curriculum, instructional quality, course- and program-level achievements, and the overall success of the department.

With direction from the executive dean of academic services, the academic operations manager supports the academic departments in his/her portfolio with operational management including, but not limited to, creating and managing budgets, supporting the scheduling of classes, managing the use of the school's buildings and facilities, and providing project management for school-based initiatives. The academic operations manager collaborates with the school deans and department chairs to help them achieve their goals as measured in the departmental report cards.

With a project-based and results-oriented approach, the academic operations manager maintains a comprehensive project timeline for the academic departments in his/her portfolio, reports directly to the executive dean of academic services, and collaborates with school deans and department chairs to ensure that academic department meet deadlines and requirements, achieve measurable goals, and continuously enhance and elevate the experience of their students.

As part of the operational and project-based management responsibilities of the position, the academic operations manager may also be asked by the executive dean of academic services to coordinate efforts with other university departments and offices to ensure that the assigned academic departments support university priorities and initiatives.

SCAD Atlanta seeks an experienced academic operations manager to provide daily operational management support to a portfolio of academic departments.

In this full-time position, and reporting to the executive dean of academic services, you will support a portfolio of academic departments with budget creation and management, class schedules, and building management. You will also assist with project management for school-based initiatives and collaborate with school deans and department chairs to help them achieve the goals of their respective schools/departments, among other duties. As an academic operations manager, you may also be asked to coordinate with other university departments to ensure that your portfolio of academic departments supports university priorities and initiatives, and continuously elevates the student experience.

The successful candidate has a results-oriented approach to projects and exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented, the candidate can multitask and manage deadlines with ease and without sacrificing accuracy. Stellar interpersonal and communication abilities are a must, as is a working knowledge of accounting, budget planning, and financial forecasting. The candidate should also possess excellent time-management skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.A. degree minimum, 3-5 years relevant experience.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.budget planning and financial forecasting.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Working knowledge of accounting,
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Expertise in computer applications and databases.
• Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines.

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
