The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of single molecule imaging, creating lentivirus constructs, cell culture techniques, molecular biology, computational analysis of genomic data, ChIP-Seq. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include serve as a mentor to new lab members, perform experiments involving single molecule tracking to investigate chromatin dynamics in living cells, compare single molecule tracking data to chromatin site occupancy data (ChIP or Cut&Run) for wild type and mutant forms of the FoxA1 transcription factor, investigate chromatin dynamic changes during cellular reprogramming to pluripotency.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, familiarize with related literatures and experimental techniques, prepare manuscript and grant preparation, present research findings in national and international meeting, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career trainings offered by the University.

Candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years of postdoctoral experience.
