Job Description Summary
The Senior Nanofabrication Engineer in the Quattrone Nanofabrication Facility (QNF) at the University of Pennsylvania will support the QNF and its user program, provide training and process support to facility users.
Job Description
The Senior Nanofabrication Engineer will provide training and process support to facility users; assist users with process development and process integration; develop and document novel nanofabrication processes and techniques; work collaboratively with other facility staff to develop and improve standard operating procedures and document existing baseline process data; work with external customers to determine feasibility of and perform remote processing, and represent the QNF and Penn at relevant conferences such as (AVS, MRS, EIPBN, MAEBL).
Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field and a minimum of three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hands-on user facility experience in using CAD for device layout, including pattern fracturing and data management, micro- and nano- lithography, including optical and electron-beam, physical vapor deposition, atomic layer deposition, reactive ion etching, plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition, laser micromachining, scanning electron microscopy, focused ion beam, and atomic force microscopy.
Demonstrated ability to create and document novel nanofabrication processes.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable working in a clean room environment
Preferred:
Hands-on experience mentoring and training researchers in open user facility environment.
Demonstrated ability to design and model simulations and analyze data for optimization of device design and performance.
