Perform Robotic CT's, Ceretom CT's, Radiographic Studies and assist in Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound/Cardiology, MRI, Treadmill, Dynamic Endoscopy and horse handling. Position is located in Kennett Square, PA. No public transportation is available.

Job Description

The Advanced Imaging Technical Specialist is a specialized technician in the Imaging Department at NBC. This individual will report directly to the Director of Imaging and Clinical Service. The skills required to do this job are unique, there is technical imaging skills (Radiology,CT,Robotic CT), equipment management , troubleshooting, and investigation into acquisition of new imaging equipment. This position also requires a skilled person who can communicate effectively with the IT department.


Perform all clinical image acquisition and image quality control to include Radiology, CT and Robotic CT on all large animals. Manage all scheduling concerns for all modalities. Liaison between IT and imaging departments, utilizing specialized skills to understand and communicate effectively with IT staff and outside vendors. Troubleshoot imaging equipment issues, perform hardware and software validation and testing prior to any image acquisition and/or usage of radiation producing equipment. Perform research studies and conduct image improvement experiments in cooperation with PhD students, residents, interns and faculty both internally and externally. RIS / PACS management, requires advanced skill set to configure all new equipment and any loaner equipment to pull work-list from RIS and send images to PACS. Expertise in PACS management storage required to handle all exceptions. Perform all imaging equipment calibrations for hospital and field service units, schedule and prepare all equipment for EHRS inspections, provide feedback to EHRS with any repairs. Provide operational and positional training to all interns, residents, veterinary students, Harcum students and new staff hires in radiology and robotic imaging systems. Equipment purchasing recommendations/purchase order requests, investigate new equipment purchases based on knowledge and years of experience. Work closely with the financial department to create new imaging codes for all modalities utilizing template designs in VISION.


A minimum of 5 years experience in Radiology required, a minimum of 4 years experience in Robotic CT training required with a minimum of 10 years experience working with horses, accomplished and comfortable with horses and their behavior. Installing, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting of advanced medical imaging systems required. PACS/RIS specialized training required. Advanced knowledge of all Imaging equipment required. Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively is required. Must be able to communicate both verbally and written. Must be able to work well with others. Computer skills are required.
