Job Description

The Linda and Bipin Doshi Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) in Rolla is seeking outstanding applicants for a new Linda and Bipin Doshi Professor or Associate Professor position in one of the areas of drug delivery, biomaterials, biopharmaceuticals, tissue engineering, and energy (including but not limited to renewable fuels, batteries and multiphase reactors engineering). Preference will be given to the best applicants who can contribute to the department's areas of strength related to drug delivery, energy, and multiphase reaction engineering. Competitive salary commensurate to qualifications of the candidate will be offered.

Successful candidates will be expected to have strong achievements and successes to (a) establishing strong research program that is externally funded and nationally and internationally recognized, (b) securing diverse and competitive external funding (c) contributing to the departmental, college, and campus research efforts, (d) establishing collaborative research efforts within the department, college, campus, UM System and with outside institutions, (e) high-quality teaching both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, (f) service in the applicant's professional community and our institution, and (g) increasing the diversity of both the student body and coworkers. Applicants should have demonstrated excellence in research, external funding, high-quality teaching, service, and increasing diversity. A preference is given for applicants with a B.S. degree in chemical engineering and a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering or a related field at the time of starting the position. Candidates from national labs or industry with a strong research record and ability to secure diverse and competitive external funding coupled with academic/teaching experience are encouraged to apply as well.

Missouri S&T's Linda and Bipin Doshi Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering occupies a new Bertelsmeyer Hall that accommodates state-of-the-art research laboratories related energy (including multiphase flow and reactors engineering, renewable fuels, and batteries), environmental applications including CO 2 capture and conversion, adsorption, and drug delivery. It has state-of-the-art teaching laboratories and classrooms. Currently the department has 12 faculty members.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in chemical engineering or a related field at the time of starting the position
