Job Description

Wharton's Mack Institute is seeking a Program Assistant to support its MGMT892 consulting practicum course (Collaborative Innovation Program) for the Fall 2021 Semester. The Program Assistant will work alongside our MGMT892 faculty and Mack Institute staff to assist in coordinating with student teams to ensure that projects with our corporate partner firms run efficiently and smoothly. A masters degree or higher is required for this position.

Responsibilities include providing guidance on consulting projects (advice on how to work with clients to get timely access to data, “soft skills” as related to consulting experiences, etc.); researching academic resources for the teams to take advantage of; and providing recommendations through professional (alumni) networks to assist teams in gaining interview access to content experts and practitioners.

The Program Assistant will be responsible for tracking the progress of 4 student teams throughout the semester and highlighting potential challenges and opportunities to the MGMT892 faculty as they arise. Industries and topics for this semester's projects range from technology & equipment innovation management systems to identifying high-growth start-up acquisition strategies. Clients will come from the pool of the Mack Institute's corporate partners.

Time commitment will range between 10-20 hours/week during the academic semester including some evenings (with a few hours for orientation prior to the start of class). Some desktop research may be required to help guide teams to academic and/or alumni resources. Background in consulting is preferable.
