The Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Candidates should be board certified/eligible in gastroenterology.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching Penn students, residents and fellows, as well as graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include clinical care that specializes in hepatology and liver transplantation and may be required to provide these services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC), Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH), and/or Penn Medicine at Radnor (PMR).

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include working on research in the field of hepatology and liver transplantation, as well as collaboration with members of labs in their research and give their contributions. Evidence of scholarship is required in the Clinician- Educator track.

The successful candidate will be the Director of Hepatology. He/she should be mid-career and an outstanding educator, who will excel at teaching and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research. BC/BE in internal medicine and gastroenterology is required. This is an exciting opportunity to facilitate Hepatology and liver transplantation and clinical research within a great university and prominent health system.

The selected candidate will join a highly interactive and exiting multidisciplinary academic and clinical environment at the University of Pennsylvania as an integral member of the Division of Gastroenterology and will have opportunities to teach the GI fellowship and internal medicine residency programs at the Perelman School of Medicine. There will be an expectation of the ability to provide management and/or leadership. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
