Job Description

The primary purpose of the position is to coordinate the medical record process in the practice inclusive of scanning, filing, and medical records copying. The medical records clerk will also be responsible for coordinating the sorting and distribution of departmental mail.


- Scan all appropriate paper data routinely as they come to the department in to the electronic medical record

- Follow appropriate scanning process as specified by the UPHS/Department defined process

- Confirm presence of the scanned file in the appropriate place in the electronic medical record system. The confirmation must be done after the scanning process has taken place and prior to destruction.

- Complete all required Epic training and demonstrates proficiency in navigating the Epic system.

- Provide medical records support, as needed

- Perform clerical and other duties as assigned

- Attend all staff meetings

- Perform additional duties as assigned


H.S. Diploma or GED preferred, 0-1 years experience
