Pediatric Pulmonology Faculty Positions - Top 50 Program

On behalf of John Carroll, MD Professor, Section Chief of Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Division at Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH), CareerPhysician, the leader in academic pediatric search is pleased to inform you of the national search for two qualified faculty candidates to join the Pulmonary and Sleep Division at ACH.

ACH is the clinical leader in pediatric pulmonary and sleep care for children in Arkansas. The division is currently recruiting for two positions. The first is a full-time faculty appointment at ACH on main campus in Little Rock . The second is a full-time clinical faculty appointment with ACH's Northwest campus in Springdale .

The chosen faculty will be part of a state-wide enterprise and division of 9 faculty providing infants and children with complete diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic lung disease throughout the state. ACH is home to the only Cystic Fibrosis Center in the state reviewed and approved by the national Cystic Fibrosis Foundation , a nationally accredited Pediatric Sleep Disorders Center and a Center for Respiratory Technology-Dependent Children (long-term ventilation).

Opportunity Highlights:
  • The pulmonary division at ACH benefits from serving as the only academic pulmonary service treating children in Arkansas, which provides continued opportunity for clinical and professional growth, including leadership appointments within the division.
  • The joining pulmonologists will work collaboratively with division and departmental leadership to develop a scope of practice equally considerate of the patients and families, divisional objectives, and the positive impact on the career of the physician. ACH and UAMS offer opportunities for clinical, and translational research, lab-based research, and sleep medicine to couple ample opportunity to participate in quality and outcomes projects as well as education and curriculum development.
  • These positions will significantly impact ACH's mission to reach and treat all children in Arkansas. Clinical commitment will include clinic coverage, inpatient service, and shared call with the division. ACH houses an ACGME accredited pediatric residency and a pulmonary fellowship program that graduates one fellow per year.
  • The compensation package for these roles includes a competitive salary and bonus structure that rewards both clinical activity as well as academic achievement and scholarly work through a valued based incentive program to ensure academic mission and education is recognized and rewarded on par with clinical production.
