Harvard Medical School is seeking an outstanding leader to become the inaugural Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs.

About the Dean: Reporting to the Dean of Harvard Medical School, and a key member of the Dean's Leadership Council and senior administrative team, the Dean provides senior leadership for Academic and Faculty Affairs. The Dean oversees academic activities, recruitment, retention, academic advancement, and career satisfaction of a diverse faculty. He/She will also serve as a strategic partner to the Dean of the Medical School on a broad range of academic, faculty affairs, policy, and professional development programs and services. He/She will have oversight for many of the School initiatives, programs, centers, and institutes; will be responsible for maintaining and updating agreements between Harvard and its affiliate hospitals and research institutions; for coordination with clinical affiliates; and for external reviews of clinical departments. The Dean also coordinates the selection process for limited competition funding opportunities through HMS Foundation Funds. In partnership with the Office of Diversity Inclusion and Community Partnership, he/she will support efforts that advance diversity programs and initiatives.
