Library Associate

As the library associate, you will support the library's mission of excellent service delivery to the SCAD community through the lending and receiving of materials, course reserve coordination, interlibrary loan services, and research assistance. You will deliver comprehensive and individualized research assistance to students and faculty, including access to course reserves, online databases, and more. You will also perform all tasks related to the opening and closing of the library and securing the floor, as well as book stacks maintenance such as shelf reading, shifting of the collection, and book displays.

In this position, you will be responsible for outreach activities that promote the library to students and faculty and updating the head librarian on any issues or concerns that arise during your shifts. You will also perform routine library account maintenance such as sending overdue notices, collecting fines, and placing and releasing library holds; remain informed on circulation policies; communicate and enforce policies; and assist with receiving and processing interlibrary loans, donations, and new items.

Minimum Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
