Temporary Admission Summer Assistant

As the temp assistant, you will be responsible for communicating with participants and parents and ensuring a safe experience for program participants by enforcing outlined rules and guidelines with attendees. In this role you will coordinate with university personnel for the provisions of on-site student needs during the pre-college programs, ensure the retention of pre-college assistants each summer by providing exceptional guidance and feedback, and serve as a chaperone for participants during all activities of the program. Responsibilities include raising concerns to admission leaders for support, acting as the initial point of contact for participants in crisis and ensuring they receive assistance, and setting behavioral expectations for participants while instructing program assistants to do the same.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable with being responsible for the welfare of almost 2,000 pre-college participants, the majority of whom are minors. They must also demonstrate a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive campus environment that is conducive to academic success. The candidate must be able to disseminate information on pre-college programs, policies, procedures, and the overall mission to SCAD staff in a timely manner. The person in this position regularly interacts with guests and staff, acting as host and serving as a quality representative of SCAD at all events when present.

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
