The Department of Linguistics at New York University invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor (non-tenure-track) in the area of semantics . This is a one-year teaching position with a course load of 4 courses per year at the graduate and the undergraduate level (2 courses each). The appointment will begin on September 1, 2024 subject to budgetary and administrative approval.
The Department of Linguistics has major strengths in phonology, syntax, semantics, and sociolinguistics, as well as significant expertise in neurolinguistics, computational linguistics, morphology, fieldwork and language documentation, and acquisition. We seek a scholar whose teaching and research will strengthen the curriculum in the area of semantics, broadly construed, while also complementing and enhancing the department overall. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline by the time of appointment.
