SCAD Story Operations Manager

As the operations manager of SCADstory, you will coordinate daily tours and conduct the interviews, trainings, and onboarding of docent staff. Responsibilities include coordinating student schedules, approving time sheets, ensuring student coverage for operational hours and special events, and guaranteeing the quality of the guest interaction aspects. You will directly supervise two employees who will indirectly supervise more than 30 student docents.

In the role of operations manager, you will provide daily operational support including the execution of the start of day/end of day procedures, accurate check-in and registration of guests, mentoring and supervision of SCADstory student staff, and the facilitation of events. Responsibilities include managing administrative tasks, maintaining and submitting the monthly guest attendance report and admission material, and maintaining the cleaning and ordering of student work uniforms.

Expectations include the ability to maintain the functionality, cleanliness, and sanitization efforts of the SCADstory; frequent communication as the liaison to campus safety and housekeeping; and collaboration with the SCADstory technical team. You must be able to maintain an excellent working relationship with colleagues in other departments and provide communication to guests when reservations require rescheduling or cancellation. The operations manager should demonstrate a keen knowledge about the university's history, mission and vision, awards and recognitions, programming and events, resources, educational opportunities, and the admission process.

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, time-management, organizational, verbal, written, and customer service skills
  • Must possess a high level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, during important initiatives
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision

Travel required:
  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
