Production Coordinator

As the production coordinator, you will be responsible for budgetary management, coordinating productions, scheduling, staffing, and critical support of the departments' production season, which includes live theatre, music events, student performances, and other activities. You will be the stage manager for all department activities and oversee house management for SCAD Savannah theaters. As the coordinator, you must be the company manager for off-site performances and schedule performer travel itineraries/accommodations.

As the production coordinator, you will supervise load-ins, contract laborers, develop and maintain a contact list, schedule all rehearsals and venue usages, and assemble a master calendar to ensure consistency between departmental and college calendars.

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree in theatre or related field with at least three years of professional experience as a stage manager, film assistant director, company manager, house manager, and/or technical director
  • Experience in building and maintaining budgets and training students in stage management
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Organizational, multitasking, technological, and software management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least five years of professional experience in regional theatre, touring, or Broadway productions
  • Advanced degree or certification in a relevant field
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining budgets and budgeting systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead undergraduate/graduate students in stage management
  • Leader or participant in relevant professional/educational certifications and associations

Travel Required:
  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours to accommodate business needs, including weekends and evenings.
