Social Media Coordinator

As the social media coordinator, you will assist the department in all facets of social media content creation and initiate and implement photo and video projects and content for the university president. This role is responsible for handling the meticulous organizational aspects of media production and creation, assisting with the daily administration of the department, and collaboratively keeping the department creative and on the cutting edge of content.

In this position, you will develop and track a cross-channel social media content calendar and content tracking and analytics database while presenting new channel strategies and content concepts. As the coordinator, you will communicate projects, edits, notes, and more to the executive media, executive content, and visual media teams. You will be expected to keep leadership informed of platform developments, content trends, and growth opportunities within the social media space. Additionally, you will assist in the production, creation, and tracking of executive content.

Minimum Qualifications:   
  • Bachelor's degree with at least one year of experience in social and digital media production and strategy
  • Keen sense of grammar and typography with familiarity with terminology and best practices
  • Highly organized and well-versed in social media and new digital media formats
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an interest in content design and platforms, film and photo production, podcasts, and new media communications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Photo and video editing skills and experience

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
  • Valid driver's license

Travel Required:
  • At least 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
