Professor of Film and Television

SCAD seeks an experienced, full-time professor of film and television to join its faculty in Atlanta, Ga.In this role, you will help prepare the next generation of visual media professionals.

SCAD film and television students are immersed in a creative studio environment where cutting-edge technology and academic and professional instruction enable them to create award-winning media. Student productions have been screened at premier film festivals around the world, including the Sundance Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, the Los Angeles Film Festival, and South by Southwest.

As a SCAD professor, you will be required to meet expectations of planning and preparing for teaching; maintaining an active and engaged classroom environment; syllabus design, submission, and approval; holding office hours and midterm grade reviews; providing extra-help sessions, extended-learning opportunities, and field trips; and conducting program-level assessments. The professor will model professionalism, fulfill grading and academic documentation requirements, record attendance, follow academic policies and regulations, and support academic-assessment and institutional-effectiveness efforts. Other responsibilities include attending on-ground and virtual events such as faculty meetings, admission events, curriculum assessment and development, institutional-effectiveness and accreditation support, and any other events, exhibitions, or publicity assignments.

Minimum Qualifications: • Terminal degree (or equivalent) in the discipline or in a relevant field.
• Academic and professional credentials to teach in a certain discipline.
• Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Experience in or knowledge of related professions.
