As the chair of interactive design and game development, you will work with faculty on curriculum development, assessment activities, and policy/procedure requirements and implementation, including course schedules and facility use. You will conduct classroom observations and annual faculty performance evaluations, review student evaluations, and ensure mentoring and faculty development opportunities. In this role, you will make decisions on academic matters, assist in the recruitment of students and faculty, review graduate student applications, and oversee the placement of students in internships and careers.
The ideal candidate will be strategic in continuing to build upon the substantial reputation of the department, sharing responsibility for the department's goals with other university leaders, and maintaining a visible on-site presence. The chair of interactive design and game development oversees and guides the work of department faculty and staff, and supports and mentors students. The chair ensures that all academic services are planned and delivered at the highest quality and that all university policies and procedures are followed without exception.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Terminal degree in interactive design and game development or related field with leadership and supervisory experience in academics of an appropriate discipline and a distinguished record of scholarship
- Leadership skills and the ability to fulfill projects from vision to implementation
- Thorough understanding of curriculum development and assessments, ability to conduct performance and academic evaluations, and the ability to define department needs
- Excellent collaboration, organization, attention to detail, communication, problem-solving, scheduling, and budget-management skills
- Willingness to collaborate and a dedication to professional and personal integrity
