The University of Windsor is seeking a dynamic, visionary and strategic leader to serve as the Dean of Science. Home to strong research programs and addressing four core themes: the Environment, Biomedical Science, Advanced Materials, and Data Analytics and Visualization. Boasting five productive and critical research institutes and centres, the Faculty of Science leads the way in multi-disciplinary research across campus.
The Faculty of Science is regarded as the research "powerhouse" of UWindsor, generating 54% of all institutional research revenue ($19.4M) and contributing more than 313 peer reviewed publications in 2022. In pursuit of its research excellence, UWindsor and the Faculty of Science support state-of-the-art central facilities in analytical chemistry, isotopes, imaging, genomics, transcriptomics, animal care and field research vessels that have associated with them permanent technical staff to promote high profile faculty-led research and hands-on student training. These facilities are in addition to its CRC and internal chairs allocations in support of its strategic research plan and international research reputation.
The University of Windsor is a globally relevant and regionally focused University that welcomes over 16,000 students across a range of comprehensive and research-intensive graduate and undergraduate programs. The Dean of Science is the chief academic, administrative officer and ambassador of the Faculty of Science, which comprises eight diverse academic departments and offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs. The Dean of Science reports to the Provost and Vice-President, Academic and works collaboratively with other senior leaders, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners to advance the strategic goals, financial sustainability, and priorities of the Faculty and the University. The incumbent brings a high level of energy, social competence, flexibility, deep commitment to student success, a record of achievement in EDI, a capacity for fundraising, and high levels of personal motivation and resilience for this demanding role. The best candidates will be natural connectors, bringing prior experience and love of building new opportunities both internally and externally.

We are seeking candidates with proven administrative and budget and financial oversight and sustained academic leadership experience gained in research-intensive environments.
