Administrative Assistant

As the administrative assistant you will support departmental leadership, the dean, the office of academic services, department and school initiatives, and ongoing collaborative projects. You will be expected to provide support with classroom scheduling, housekeeping, and SCAD Day preparation. Reading and delivering incoming mail to the appropriate locations is vital. Routinely composing correspondences and organizing and maintaining a file system are necessary to perform this role. The administrative assistant will maintain departmental leader's calendars/schedules, prepare outgoing correspondence, greet and direct scheduled visitors, and order and maintain supplies as needed.

In support of academic services' Operation Showcase, the administrative assistant will maintain display spaces with outstanding student work from the department. Regarding meetings, you will be responsible for coordination, preparing agendas, reserving facilities, and recording and transcribing minutes. Additional responsibilities include coordinating quarterly report submissions from faculty and drafting departmental leader approval, supporting end-of-quarter departmental duties, and assisting in the end-of-quarter photo documentation of outstanding student work.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus one to three years of related experience
  • Successful work experience in an academic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and BANNER or similar database
  • Commitment to discipline, honesty, and integrity
  • Ability to multi-manage

Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
