The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track.* Expertise is required in the specific area of clinical vascular and endovascular surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Surgery for vascular surgery and, ideally, for general surgery, or eligible for these certifications.

Teaching responsibilities may include instruction of medical students, residents, fellows and others in the operating room, on inpatient rounds and in the outpatient clinic.

Clinical responsibilities may include the full range of open vascular and endovascular surgery procedures in a tertiary-care hospital outfitted with hybrid ORs.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include pursuit of clinical and/or basic science research related to vascular surgery. Evidence of scholarship is required in the Clinician Educator track.

This position will be housed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, flagship institution of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Candidates with formal vascular fellowship or integrated vascular surgery residency training will be preferred.
