The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. ABA certification in anesthesiology along with ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license are required.

Teaching responsibilities may include the instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the operating rooms of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) as well as participation in lectures, small groups, workshops, and/or simulation sessions.

Clinical responsibilities may include the provision of obstetrical and general anesthesia at HUP and PPMC.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include collaborative and/or independent research resulting in publications and grants.

Additional responsibilities will include leadership of the Division of Obstetrical Anesthesia across all three missions: Clinical, Education, and Research. This involves accountability for productivity in all three areas and for positively impacting growth in each domain. We are also seeking a candidate able to establish an ACGME-accredited obstetrical anesthesiology fellowship program.

For faculty seeking a non-research faculty appointment, see the related posting for Associated Faculty.
