SCAD Savannah seeks a dean for the School of Fashion to lead the direction of the school and oversee all SCAD Savannah fashion programs.

Position Summary: In this full-time position, you will be responsible for the leadership and administration of chairs, faculty, and staff in the School of Fashion. You will set department goals, develop strategies, and take measurable actions consistent with the university's strategic plan to grow and maintain the school's reputation for academic excellence, including the 6Rs: recruitment, retention, recognition, revenue, research, and results. You will share school expectations, goals, and strategies with academic program leaders to continuously enhance the reputation of each department through awards, rankings, and other means of external recognition in the field, and ensure active contribution to the university's recognition initiatives.

As a dean, you will promote teaching excellence and provide input and direction to academic program leaders on course scheduling, teaching assignments, facility use, and resource management. You will lead the continuous enhancement of content and instruction for all academic offerings within the school, collaborate with the office for career and alumni success to ensure students are prepared for their careers, and forge and maintain new partnerships with industry leaders to build a network of influencers. Guided by human resources and in collaboration with academic program leaders, you will create opportunities for mentoring and professional development for new and continuing faculty. Among other duties, you will also collaborate in the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate students to the programs of the school, and lead signature events such as the SCAD end of year Fashion Show and SCADstyle.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree or its equivalent in fashion or a related field
  • Three or more years of experience in higher education
  • Strong portfolio of related professional work
  • Demonstrated understanding of the business of fashion

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
