The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks an Epileptologist to Direct Electroencephalography for Penn Medicine, including at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and throughout its expanding multi-hospital network. This position seeks candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of acute, chronic and tertiary care of epilepsy patients, EEG interpretation, intracranial electroencephalography, ICU monitoring and evaluation of patients for epilepsy surgery, including stereo EEG, Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy, intra and extra-operative functional brain mapping and neurostimulation, both in implantable devices and in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. The successful applicant will have an established reputation as an EEG expert. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Board certified in the fields of Neurology and Epilepsy. Experience as a program director and in education and clinical operations is desired, mid-career applicants with experience in these areas are encouraged to apply.

While continuing our tradition as a national leader in teaching and research, the new EEG Lab Director will have a record of clinical and academic excellence in Epilepsy and EEG, and will be charged with working collaboratively with leadership to continue to grow our rapidly expanding clinical epilepsy network into our new flagship Hospital, 8 affiliated regional hospitals and multiple outpatient facilities serving the mid-Atlantic region.

Teaching responsibilities may include coordinating teaching of EEG in all of its forms to students, residents, fellows and faculty. This position includes dedicated support for teaching and administration, in addition to clinical practice.

Clinical responsibilities may include rotating through the EMU, EEG and outpatient epilepsy clinic.

Penn Epilepsy Center (PEC), is one of the world's leading centers for clinical epilepsy care, teaching and research. The successful candidate will join our established group of epileptologists, Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, technologists, social workers and clinical trials staff. The EEG Lab Director will have prior leadership experience and be an accomplished administrator, clinician and teacher. The position could also include directing the Penn Epilepsy Fellowship, which currently has 5 fellows per year, and a local EEG Technology program, if of interest.
