Job Description Summary
The Coordinator for Community Engagement & Service Desks is primarily responsible for customer service operations, student-centered programming, and managing a team of student and part-time staff.

Job Description

Reporting to the Associate Director for Operations for University Life Space and Events Management, the Coordinator for Community Engagement and Service Desks is responsible for the coordination of student-centered programs, as well as the customer service operations of the Houston Hall and Arts Research and Culture House (ARCH) Welcome Desks. The role is also part of a team that ensures a consistent and continuous professional staff presence during all hours of operation and as such will work a flexible schedule including some evening and weekend hours.

The Coordinator for Community Engagement and Service Desks directly recruits, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates student and part time staff and additionally provides support to the event operations staff. The Coordinator interacts with the campus community to ensure a high level of client satisfaction. The role interfaces with campus partners including Facilities, Public Safety, and Hospitality Services to ensure safe and appropriate use of the student center and to meet the needs of the campus community. Coordinator will develop a “service center” which responds to requests and inquiries related to building conditions, security, work requests and safety and cleanliness issues. The Coordinator determines which staff are to be notified, dependent on the situation at hand including emergencies and potential crisis situations.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 4-6 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Customer service experience is required

Former supervisory experience is required
Experience with student programming and higher education is preferred
