The Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Instructor position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of deep brain stimulation, stereotactic neurosurgery, and focused ultrasound. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree.

Responsibilities may include providing coverage of all deep brain stimulation and focused ultrasound cases, planning the imaging trajectories, rounding on the patients to optimize care, and providing continuity of provider familiarity from the clinic to the OR and wards.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop skills in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery beyond resident training to ensure appropriate growth and career development for performing as an attending.
