The Department of Neurology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Neurology, with fellowship training. The candidate must be skilled in the acute, chronic and tertiary care of epilepsy patients, EEG interpretation, electrocorticography, and evaluation of patients for epilepsy surgery, including stereo EEG, Laser Interstitial Thermal Therapy (LITT), intra and extraoperative functional brain mapping and neurostimulation, both in implantable devices and in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. Applicants must have an M.D. degree. Board-eligible or certified in Neurology and Epilepsy.

Teaching responsibilities may include teaching medical students, residents, fellows and trainees at all levels, both in clinical neurology and epileptology.

Clinical responsibilities may include being primarily clinically focused, and will divide time between outpatient care potentially at multiple locations in the Penn network, attending on the inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit service, and on the EEG/ ICU monitoring service.

A goal of this position is to demonstrate clinical excellence on a local and national scale, and to participate with other member of the PEC in scholarly activities within the field of epilepsy. Research funding is NOT required for this position. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care and education.
